Still addressing the mammoth crowd that stormed his Camp Neya residence on appointment by 9:30 am on Saturday, 6th January, 2024, the former Chief Whip of the 9th Senate, thanked the people for coming out en masse and in time to collect these gifts. The Former Chairman of the SUN publishing company, Orji Kalu told the people that the 300 bags of rice for each autonomous and cash prize was them alone, that the Igwes (Village heads) were not included to partake in the sharing formula. He said he has Igwe's packages separate from what he is giving the 13 villages that make up Igbere.
Orji Kalu who was in high spirit, admonished the people to be their brothers keeper and to be good ambassadors of Igbere, Igbo land and Nigeria . He said his magnanimity is not tailored towards politics or for optics, but to help reduce economic hardship facing the people and to also help Federal Government distribute agricultural palliative which will go a long way in reducing depression and so much pressure on the part of bread winners of many families in this dire time.
